The Department of English at ASU gathered in celebration of 2022-2023 graduates and award-winners in a festive end to the academic year on May 9, 2023 in Ross-Blakley Hall, ASU Tempe campus, as well as on Zoom.

Introduced by English Chair Krista Ratcliffe, Foundation Professor of English Neal Lester—who is also the founding director of the Project Humanities initiative—kicked off the event with a spirited invocation: "Personal 'Happiness' and Social Responsibility." Spring 2023 Dean's Medalist in English, Ruth Beadle then spoke about her ASU career and thanked her mentors, family and friends for their support.

The event concluded with an address by Bob Sommer, Changing Hands Bookstore co-founder, who presented Changing Hands gift cards to all graduates in attendance.
