Graduate Advising

The Graduate Program Handbooks and FAQs outline key information about graduate studies. Graduate Advisors are essential resources for answering questions and providing advice about degree program requirements, the application process, plans of study and course enrollment.

Students should meet with a Graduate Advisor at least once per year to plan their coursework and track their progress toward satisfying degree requirements. Please make appointments by email and contact the advisor in advance if you need to cancel.

Once a master's student completing an Applied Project or Thesis or a doctoral student has chosen a committee chair, that faculty member becomes a key source of scholarly and professional advice. To make good progress, students should keep in close contact with their chair as well as their Graduate Advisor.

Students and potential students can always reach out to Graduate Advisors with program-related questions. Anyone unsure which advisor to contact can email a question to englishgradadvising@asu.edu.
