The Carl C. Carlie Linguistics Fellowship was created by Joan Berry, a former student, and her husband Charles Berry in honor of Joan’s grandfather Carl C. Carlie. The fellowship amount will be approximately $680 and will be awarded in the fall semester to a graduate student in linguistics in the Department of English.
Fellowship recipients must:
- be master's or doctoral students in the linguistics area in the Department of English at ASU;
- be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits) during the semester the funding is received;
- have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA; and
- be citizens or permanent residents of the U.S.
Financial need may be considered when awarding this fellowship but is not a requirement.
