Faculty in English education at ASU are engaged teacher trainers and scholars. They hold leadership posts in National Council of Teachers of English and the National Writing Project and are active members of the local educational community, driving innovation in metro Phoenix classrooms through roles in Arizona Humanities and the Arizona Science Center and in ASU initiatives like the Central Arizona Writing Project, the Young Adult Writing Program, Early Start, and Día De Los Niños, Día De Los Libros. They are experts and teach on the study of young adult literature, writing in STEM education, culturally responsive pedagogy, and classroom diversity. Their written work appears in top journals, and they publish books on educational theory and pedagogical best practices.
