Sponsored by the ASU Department of English, the Young Adult Writing Project (YAWP) is a summer writing program based on a creative journaling approach for students in grades 8-12. YAWP’s vision is that through sharing our personal stories, we learn the language that brings healing and peace into our communities and our selves. The students of YAWP 2009 will share their stories and poetry at this public reading.

“We want a language of that different yield. A yield rich as the harvests of earth, a yield that returns us to our own sacredness, to a self-love and respect that will carry out to others.”  —Linda Hogan
