Information about the Graduate Student Award

The conference will award the two best graduate student papers written for the conference. The award-winning essay will be published in Essays in Romanticism. The first place student will receive $200 while the second place student will receive $100. The awards will be given at the Saturday evening banquet.

To be considered for the award, the completed papers (10-11 pages maximum) must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM Monday, October 22th. Please email your submission to ICR 2012 at asu.icr.2012@gmail.com with the email subject heading “ICR Graduate Student Paper.”

The first place winner was Rebecca Nesvet (University of North Carolina Chapel Hill), “Patagonian Giants, Frankenstein’s Creature, and Contact Zone Catastrophe.”

The second place winner was Tristram Wolff (University of California Berkeley), “Etymology and Slow Catastrophe: Tooke to Coleridge to Wordsworth.”
