Central Arizona Writing Project
The Central Arizona Writing Project (CAWP), a collaboration among Arizona State University, the National Writing Project (NWP), and area schools, offers programs designed to improve the writing of Arizona's K-20 students and teachers. Founded in January 2009 as a site of the National Writing Project, CAWP is a professional development program in the teaching of writing and critical literacy at every level of education and across all disiplines. It conducts a four-week Summer Institute at no cost for selected outstanding teachers each June to develop a cadre of teacher-leaders who conduct school site professional programs for schools, school districts, and colleges throughout central Arizona.
CAWP is now accepting applications for the 2012 Invitational Summer Institute (ISI). This important professional development opportunity will take place from June 5 to June 28, Tuesday through Thursday, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. K-20 educators who are residents of the state of Arizona are eligible to apply for the CAWP ISI.
